The Aerial Lift Trimmer is responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees using a bucket truck or other equipment. 2-3 years of experience operating an aerial lift trimmer or similar equipment is required. A driver's license is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules
• Assist in preparing truck and materials under the direction of the General Foreperson
• Perform professional tree maintenance activities as directed
• Clear and trim trees and brush away from utility lines; remove branches and debris
• Clean up and dispose of all debris
• Maintain and track tools and equipment used daily
• Practice climbing and tree maintenance skills to improve professional abilities
• Assist other crew members in daily activities
• Ensure safety of employees and the public by enforcing safe practices, maintaining a clean work area, and communication
• Perform storm-related duties as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience in utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical work, or military industries is preferred; previous aerial lift experience is also preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal
• Ability to identify tree species
• Understanding of electrical hazards and safety procedures near electrical conductors
• Ability to work at heights in various weather conditions
• Physical strength, agility, good balance, depth perception, and hearing ability
• Obtain and maintain first-aid and CPR certifications
• Ability to perform emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue
• Quickly respond to potential dangers
• Willingness to wear PPE and travel for storm restoration work
