A digital agency in Cape Town is seeking a Part-time Graphic Designer to assist in bringing clients' visions to life. Role and Responsibilities
1. Supporting Design Projects
- Assist in the creation of design assets, including graphics, layouts, and other visual content, under the guidance of senior designers.
- Help with concept development by brainstorming ideas and gathering design inspiration for projects.
- Collaborate with team members on various design aspects to ensure cohesion with the brand’s style and goals.
2. Digital and Print Asset Creation
- Create and adapt graphics for social media, websites, presentations, and other digital platforms.
- Assist in preparing designs for print by ensuring files meet printing standards and are ready for production.
3. Research and Trend Analysis
- Conduct research on design trends, competitor branding, and user preferences to inform design choices.
- Keep updated on current trends in colour, typography, and layout to contribute fresh ideas.
4. Maintaining Brand Consistency
- Help ensure that all designs adhere to the brand’s guidelines and maintain a consistent look and feel.
- Update templates, graphics, and design materials as per brand requirements.
5. Basic Prototyping and Wireframing
- Create basic wireframes and mockups for web pages, mobile interfaces, or product designs as per project requirements.
- Assist in developing prototypes for testing user experience and flow.
6. File Management and Organisation
- Maintain organized files and keep up with version control for design files, ensuring easy accessibility for the team.
- Prepare files for handoff to other teams, such as development or printing, with all necessary assets.
7. Feedback and Iteration
- Receive and incorporate feedback from senior designers, clients, or other stakeholders to improve design output.
- Work on multiple iterations of designs, making adjustments as needed to meet project goals.
8. Learning and Development
- Continuously improve skills in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch).
- Participate in workshops, tutorials, or team training sessions to develop and refine design skills.
9. Basic Communication with Stakeholders
- Communicate progress and updates to project managers or team leads.
- Occasionally present designs or concepts in team meetings for review and feedback.
10. Assisting with Administrative Tasks
- Assist in organizing design files, creating project documentation, and maintaining an archive of design assets.
- Help with scheduling and managing timelines for small projects under supervision.
