Placements24 is seeking charismatic Adventure Tourism Guides to lead hiking, cycling, kayaking and wine tours around Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. You will ensure client safety, share informative commentary on local environment and culture, and manage group logistics in diverse outdoor settings.

The ideal candidate has proven guiding experience, First Aid/CPR certification, and strong leadership and communication skills, with flexibility for weekends and holidays in the Western Cape

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an adventure tourism guide or outdoor leadership role.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is mandatory.
• Excellent knowledge of Stellenbosch region geography, trails and attractions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide clients on adventure activities such as hiking, cycling, kayaking, or wine tours.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients during tours.
• Provide engaging commentary on local history, culture, flora, and fauna.
• Manage group logistics, including equipment checks, route planning, and time management.
• Adapt tours to suit varying client needs and abilities.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and provide first aid if necessary.

About the Role

Our client, a premier adventure tourism operator, is seeking charismatic and experienced Adventure Tourism Guides to lead exhilarating excursions in and around the beautiful region of Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is for individuals who are passionate about the outdoors, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong commitment to safety and client satisfaction. You will be responsible for guiding clients through various adventure activities, ensuring their safety, providing informative commentary about the local environment and culture, and creating unforgettable experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the local geography, flora, and fauna, and be adept at managing group dynamics in challenging environments. This is a hands‑on role that requires a blend of physical fitness, interpersonal skills, and a genuine love for showcasing the natural wonders of the Stellenbosch, Western Cape area.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide clients on various adventure activities such as hiking, cycling, kayaking, or wine tours.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an adventure tourism guide or in a similar outdoor leadership role.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is mandatory.
• Excellent knowledge of the local geography, trails, and attractions in the Stellenbosch, Western Cape region.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Physical fitness and the ability to participate in strenuous activities.
• A passion for the outdoors and sharing local knowledge with others.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Relevant guiding certifications or qualifications are advantageous.
