Our Client is seeking an Advanced Data Engineer to join the core Data Science and Engineering team within their global IT Hub, driving the "Volume & Capacity Management and QMT Frontdesk" product portfolio.

This product optimizes plant-level capacity management, complaint and claim workflows, supply and value stream planning, and manufacturing control room operations.

In this role, you will implement analytical algorithms, design mathematical models for machine learning optimization, and build scalable big data pipelines on AWS.

• Mathematical Modeling & Optimization: Strong background in mathematics and statistics, with proven capability in implementing analytical algorithms for Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) problems and ML optimization.
• Data Science & Big Data Engineering: 5+ years of data science/engineering experience conducting large-scale calculations, parallel computing, and deploying analytics solutions into big data clusters.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Code: Advanced coding in Python and R, version control with GitHub, and solid AWS cloud infrastructure management using Terraform and IAM.

• Contract Dates: 01-10-2026 to 31-12-2029
• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation
• Level: Advanced (4-6 years related experience)

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc degree in Data Engineering, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience within the data science and engineering industry.
• Extensive commercial experience applying Machine Learning to solve real-world operational problems.

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Mathematics & Optimization: Strong mathematical foundation, statistical frameworks, and Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP).
• Programming & Tools: Advanced coding skills in Python, R, and Git/GitHub.
• Cloud & IaC: Hands‑on AWS infrastructure deployment, Terraform, and IAM policies.
• Machine Learning: Data mining, feature engineering, algorithmic modeling, and parallel computing.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with AWS Athena, AWS Lambda, and AWS API Gateway for serverless data pipelines.
