Vacancy: Admissions Officer at IIE Vega, Johannesburg Campus
Duties and Responsibilities
Student Application & Admission Administration
  • Collaborate with the campus Student Recruitment and Retention team to handle student admission queries.
  • Follow up on missing student information to finalize admissions.
  • Evaluate applications against admission criteria and communicate outcomes.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams during evaluation and assessment processes.
  • Escalate complex queries to the Admissions Manager and Registrar.
  • Manage waitlists, declined admissions, and expired offers in collaboration with the recruitment team and academic leadership.
  • Issue admission letters and determine conditions for admission.
  • Assess student eligibility and track admissions through to registration.
  • Report on admission progress to relevant managers.
  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements and work with finance on related issues.
  • Support national admission projects with the Admissions Manager.
Student Registration Administration
  • Apply holds for outstanding documentation and verify prerequisites.
  • Manage registration processes, transfers, and academic credits.
  • Handle external credit applications and support international student documentation compliance.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with POPIA regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and follow up on outstanding documentation.
  • Draft various official letters for students and manage student grouping for scheduling.
Reports and Other Tasks
  • Train new recruitment staff and upskill the sales team.
  • Coordinate with the Registrar to resolve related queries.
  • Ensure compliance with POPIA legislation.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative and reporting duties.
Graduation
  • Assess eligibility for graduation, including late and exception graduates.
  • Verify student information and ensure graduation timelines are met.
  • Facilitate certificate reprints.
Student Query Management
  • Process tickets related to admissions, graduation, and registration received face-to-face or via Assist.
Required Competencies

Minimum Qualifications
  • National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6); Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) preferred.

  • At least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably with admissions experience.
