The IIE Varsity College, Online Centre in Waterfall (Midrand) has vacancies for an Admissions Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Student Application & Admission Administration
- Collaborate with the campus Student Recruitment team to handle student admissions queries.
- Follow up with the Student Recruitment team for missing student information necessary to finalize admissions.
- Evaluate student applications against set admission criteria and communicate outcomes.
- Liaise with the recruitment team during evaluation and assessment processes.
- Escalate complex queries to the Admissions Manager.
- Manage admission waitlists and communicate with relevant teams.
- Handle declined admissions, expired offers, and issuance of new study offers.
- Manage documentation and issue admission letters.
- Determine and follow up on admission conditions.
- Assess applicant eligibility for academic programs.
- Track admissions through to registration.
- Report progress to the Head: Student Recruitment & Sales Operations Manager (Distance & Admissions).
- Adhere to service level agreements for admissions processes.
- Coordinate with the Finance department on related issues.
- Ensure campus admission compliance with the Admissions Manager and Sales Operations Manager.
- Participate in national admission projects with the Admissions Manager.
Student Registration Administration
- Apply holds on student accounts for outstanding documentation or conditional admissions.
- Verify registrations against admission criteria.
- Complete all counselling documentation before admission approval, upload to applicant profiles.
- Manage the transfer process for new students in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, forwarding to finance for processing.
- Register new students for SLP & NQP as required.
- Handle external credit applications, supporting students through the process.
- Weekly review of NSC exception reports and follow-up on documentation.
- Ensure international student documentation compliance.
- Update reports regularly in line with international policies.
- Re-audit registration files by stipulated deadlines, including SAQA/USAF qualifications, visas, and conditional acceptances.
- Monitor conditional admissions throughout the year, including visas and qualifications.
- Follow established service level agreements for registration processes.
Reports and Other Duties
- Train new recruitment staff and continuously upskill the sales team on admission updates.
- Maintain communication with the Assistant Registrar regarding Registrar-related queries.
- Comply with POPIA legislation concerning new admissions.
- Perform ad hoc administrative and reporting duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6) minimum
- Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7) advantageous
Minimum Work Experience
- At least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably with admissions experience
