Job description

Position Title: Mobile Device and Data Administrator

Primary Objective: We are looking to hire an experienced Mobile Communications Administrator to look after the mobile administration needs of our internal customers.

As an administrator, you will be required to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all mobile contracts and devices for the group. This includes ordering and dispensing of devices, provisioning of SIM cards, configuring of new devices, loading of data and airtime, and record keeping. To ensure success as a Mobile Device Administrator, you should have excellent admin and people skills and the ability to adapt to a changing work schedule.

Ultimately, a top-level Mobile Device Administrator efficiently manages all mobile-related services, providing high-quality service and management for any job size.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Implementation of new software, device testing, setup, and enrollment.
  2. Development of training material and manuals for troubleshooting of devices and software.
  3. Stock Management including ordering and provisioning of new contracts.
  4. Dispatching of mobile devices and phones to end users.
  5. Management of incoming and outgoing stock deliveries.
  6. Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  7. Device management through mobile management platforms.
  8. Completion of helpdesk service calls.
  9. Providing support nationally to all users.
  10. Troubleshooting on disconnected SIMs and devices.
  11. Day-to-day coordination of operational tasks related to the area of responsibility.
  12. Traveling to and from branches as and when needed.
Qualifications:
  • One or more of the following: Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Clear criminal record and no pending cases.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • 3-5 years' experience as a mobile administrator.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays where required.
  • Able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience in problem solving, analytical skills, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management processes.
  • Knowledge of device management software (Intune, Manage Engine).
  • Knowledge of mobile network operators and how to provision SIM cards.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflict effectively.
  • Ability to handle work-related stress and work effectively under pressure.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
Mobile Device Specialist Position Specific Requirements:
  • Own reliable transport is required as the technician will be required to travel to sites for onsite support from time to time.
General Requirements:
  • Standby, overtime, and shift work may be required.
