We offer innovative, research-based teacher education programmes and run large postgraduate programmes in various disciplines in education. The Faculty of Education seeks a qualified, experienced and dynamic individual for appointment to the post of Administrator: Dean’s Office.
Reporting to the Dean, the successful incumbent will be responsible for creating and maintaining an efficient and effective working climate and delivering a professional support function to the Dean. He/she will act as Personal Assistant to the Dean and will perform an office management function for the Dean’s office by coordinating, overseeing and performing a wide range of administrative support activities.
Key Performance Areas
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Act as Personal Assistant to the Dean
- Office coordination and diary management
- Scheduling of meetings and meeting administration
- Handling of office correspondence
- Internal and external client liaison
- Financial administration, including budget control and procurement
- Travel arrangements
- Marketing and events (workshops, team-building exercises, and training interventions) coordination
- Developing and maintaining systems to support information management
- Ensuring an efficient filing system
- Maintaining high levels of confidentiality
- Committee administration, including agendas, minutes, and reports
- Venue Management
- Performing any other administrative duties as may be assigned by the Dean
Minimum Requirements- Matric/ Grade 12 and at least a relevant post-matric qualification at NQF level 6
- At least 5 years' relevant experience in a personal assistant position at a senior level
- Experience in financial administration
- Computer Literacy including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Added Advantages- Candidate who worked in a similar secretarial/personal assistant position at a higher education institution
- A Bachelor's degree at NQF level 7
