Job description

The Division for Student Development and Support (SDS) plays a leading role in creating a holistic, enabling environment and excellent co-curricular opportunities for students to develop to their full potential as active scholars and responsive citizens.

Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Student Development and Support, the successful candidate will assist to create a positive image of SDS and contribute towards a conducive working climate.

Responsibilities will involve:

  • Office and diary management
  • Coordinating a wide rangeof administrativeand project related activities, whilst ensuring follow-ups to ensure their implementation
  • Internal and external stakeholder liaison and engagement
  • Budget administration
  • Events co-ordination, monitoring and reporting
  • Developing and maintaining systems to support information management and preparation for meetings
  • Ensuring an efficient filing system and record keeping
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Minute taking at staff meetings andany other meeting at the request of the DVC or the Executive Assistant
  • Any other administrative duties assigned by the Executive Assistant
  • A relevant post-matric qualification or NQF level 6
  • A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years experience, preferably within higher education
