Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas
The Division for Student Development and Support (SDS) plays a leading role in creating a holistic, enabling environment and excellent co-curricular opportunities for students to develop to their full potential as active scholars and responsive citizens.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Student Development and Support, the successful candidate will assist to create a positive image of SDS and contribute towards a conducive working climate.
Responsibilities Will Involve
- Office and diary management
- Coordinating a wide range of administrative and project related activities, whilst ensuring follow-ups to ensure their implementation
- Internal and external stakeholder liaison and engagement
- Budget administration
- Events co-ordination, monitoring and reporting
- Developing and maintaining systems to support information management and preparation for meetings
- Ensuring an efficient filing system and record keeping
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Minute taking at staff meetings and any other meeting at the request of the DVC or the Executive Assistant
- Any other administrative duties assigned by the Executive Assistant
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant post-matric qualification or NQF level 6
- A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years experience, preferably within higher education
Advantageous
- Knowledge of senior management environment

- Computer literacy
- Working knowledge of student management and finance systems is essential
