Responsibilities
The Administrative Supervisor is a registered Professional Nurse responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services during evening and night shifts. They oversee the administrative operations of the Department of Nursing on their tour, act as a representative of Hospital Administration, and communicate major issues to appropriate personnel. They provide leadership and serve as a resource for nursing staff and other hospital staff, assisting in problem-solving and intervention. The supervisor conducts regular rounds to assess nursing care quality, initiates counseling or disciplinary actions when necessary, and adjusts staffing based on census and acuity to ensure adequate coverage.
Qualifications
Registered Professional Nurse licensed in New York State. A Baccalaureate degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate clinical and supervisory leadership skills with 3-5 years of experience, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
