Job description

SANBI offers an annual basic salary of R325 101.00, plus 37% in lieu of benefits.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking a self-motivated individual to oversee the supply chain management process related to tenders and ensure adherence to proper procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • National diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent (NQF 6) with 4 years relevant work experience, or
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent (NQF 7) with 2 years relevant work experience, or
  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent (NQF 8) - an advantage.

Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures, and systems related to supply chain management.
  • Experience with procurement systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of CIDB, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and report writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience and willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with Request for Quotation/Tender processes.
  2. Assist with terms of reference and site inspections.
  3. Support request for quotation/tender evaluation processes.
  4. Assist with purchase order generation and invoice processing.
  5. Help manage governance, risk, and compliance matters.
