Job description

SANBI offers an annual basic salary of R325 101.00, plus 37% in lieu of benefits.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking a self-motivated individual to oversee the supply chain management process related to tenders and ensure compliance with proper procedures.

This position requires:

  • A national diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 with 4 years of relevant work experience, or
  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification at NQF level 7 with 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • A postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent at NQF level 8 (advantageous).

Required competencies include extensive knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems, and frameworks related to supply chain management; experience in procurement systems; CIDB registration; knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, and accounting practices; excellent planning, organizing, problem-solving, communication, report writing, and people management skills; computer literacy in MS Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and Outlook; a valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience; and willingness to travel.

Key Performance Responsibilities include:

  1. Assist with request for quotation/tender processes;
  2. Assist with terms of reference development and site inspections;
  3. Support tender evaluation processes;
  4. Assist with purchase order generation and invoice processing;
  5. Support governance, risk, and compliance management.
