Job description

To provide required support and services to both internal and external stakeholders related to policy administration (e.g., renewals, policy endorsements, etc.) and ensure continuous service to customers within the agreed service level agreement. Must have underwriting commercial/business experience.

The ideal candidate must have the following exposure:

  1. Drive product sales based on customer coverage and engage with relevant stakeholders to upsell the product.
  2. Adhere to organizational values and service standards and communicate effectively with customers.
  3. Ensure first-time resolution of customer queries or complaints.
  4. Take ownership of requirements and follow up on queries to ensure delivery within agreed timelines and SLAs.
  5. Meet set turnaround times while ensuring availability, reliability, and accuracy.
  6. Propose improvements on internal processes impacting service levels and customer satisfaction.
  7. Understand customer's losses and engage with insurers, customers, and relevant stakeholders on suggestions to manage portfolios.
  8. Maintain product knowledge and provide relevant guidance and advice to customers.
  9. Collect and analyze feedback to improve customer service and propose ideas for enhancement.
  10. Ensure understanding of customer needs to deliver quality service.
  11. Align customer service solutions with the business operational plan, organizational values, and service standards.
  12. Establish relationships with relevant departments to meet work expectations.
  13. Adhere to SLAs to build trust.
  14. Work in accordance with organizational values and ethics.
  15. Comply with governance and compliance standards, escalating risks as necessary.
  16. Investigate ways to optimize processes and develop solutions for improved service delivery.
  17. Maintain operational efficiencies through relevant processes and procedures.
  18. Complete administration, reporting, and updates accurately and timely.
  19. Provide timely reports on operations, performance, and audit findings.
  20. Seek regular performance feedback and implement improvements.
  21. Identify activities to address personal development gaps.
  22. Create and review personal development plans with managers.
  23. Stay informed about learning opportunities, product changes, and trends.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have 5 years of senior underwriting experience in commercial/business.
  • Have a recent DOFA statement (dated within 3 months).
  • Have obtained product-specific training.
  • Have 2-3 years of experience in an administration broker role within a commercial banking environment in Upington.
  • Have experience handling high-level customer queries.
  • Are not an unrehabilitated insolvent.
