School of Journalism and Media Studies
The School of Journalism and Media Studies invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
To provide general administrative and secretarial service for the School of JMS. This would include administrative and financial support to the staff and students who interact with the School with emphasis on the requirements of the Postgraduate degree and diploma courses and short-courses hosted by the School.
The Requirements
Grade 12 plus approximately 3 years relevant experience where such experience includes:
- Having worked in a computerized administrative environment. Computer literacy: having a sound knowledge and understanding of word-processing and spreadsheets.
- Being familiar with the internet (social media) and WordPress would be an advantage.
- Previous administrative and secretarial experience.
- Previous experience in the reconciliation of accounts.
- Previous experience in a Tertiary academic environment would be an advantage.

Remuneration Per Annum (Grade 7)
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R232 345
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R327 737

This post is advertised as a permanent post, but the University may opt to appoint on a fixed-term contract of not less than three years.
