Job description

This role is primarily organizational, focusing on proposal budget calculations and administrative duties for the society.

Duties:

  1. Drawing up proposals at the beginning of the year.
  2. Managing the logistics of the programme.
  3. Compiling the session calendar, incorporating the UCT calendar and public school calendar days.
  4. Preparing a comprehensive budget for the programme for the year.
  5. Organizing weekly meetings.
  6. Taking comprehensive minutes during meetings.
  7. Submitting committee hours for the UCT Plus Programme.
  8. Purchasing items needed for the programme.

Requirements:

  • Be a registered UCT law student in the relevant academic year(s).
  • Completion of the Constitutional Law course (PBL200W).
  • Be committed to the mission of SHAWCO organization.
  • Be passionate about community development.
  • Possess excellent time management, conflict management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Previous leadership experience within SHAWCO is advantageous.
  • Maintain good academic standing.
