Job summary

Esteem Recruitment in Durban is seeking a qualified Chemist to support research and development of new products while ensuring quality and efficiency in production. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Chemistry and at least 5 years’ experience in the Adhesives industry.

Responsibilities include researching new products, maintaining documentation, sourcing raw materials, and supervising production staff. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Adhesives industry.
• Experience with solvent-based and water-based adhesives.
• Hands-on laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and analyse new products and processes.
• Maintain SOPs, documentation, and quality standards.
• Source and evaluate new or alternative raw materials.
• Implement and monitor quality controls in production.
• Supervise and train production staff as required.
• Support QC laboratory activities.
