Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Addiction Counsellor to support individuals struggling with substance abuse in Port Elizabeth. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy to promote recovery within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a relevant degree and professional registration as an Addiction Counsellor, with strong communication and confidentiality in a busy outpatient or residential setting dedicated to Eastern Cape

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Professional certification or registration as an Addiction Counsellor
• Proven experience in addiction counselling, preferably in an outpatient or residential setting
• Strong knowledge of addiction theories, treatment modalities, and recovery principles
• Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse issues and co-occurring mental health conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs
• Facilitate individual counseling sessions to address addiction-related issues and promote coping skills
