Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science is required.
• Technical Member of ASSA (Actuarial Society of South Africa) is required.
• Minimum 6 CT subjects/exemptions.
• 2–4 years of actuarial experience, preferably in Life Insurance.
• Exposure to Life Insurance across Africa is advantageous.

Salary: R700 000 - R800 000 CTC per annum

Are you a qualified actuarial professional with 2–4 years of experience looking to take the next step in your career within Life Insurance?

An exciting opportunity is available for an Actuarial Specialist to join a high-performing actuarial team, supporting life insurance operations across multiple countries.

This role offers excellent exposure to actuarial valuations, IFRS 17, regulatory reporting, financial analysis and international life insurance markets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform actuarial data analysis and prepare inputs for valuation and financial reporting processes.
• Perform actuarial calculations, including more complex modelling and analysis where required.
• Support the valuation of policy liabilities and analyse key financial drivers.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory and regulatory actuarial reports.
• Contribute to financial projections, budgeting and business planning.
• Support IFRS 17 reporting and related actuarial deliverables.
• Produce accurate and timely actuarial outputs for key stakeholders.
• Review and validate work completed by actuarial analysts and junior team members.
• Identify data issues, anomalies and inconsistencies and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Apply actuarial methodologies, tools and models in line with relevant standards and guidance.
• Work closely with stakeholders across different countries, cultures and business environments.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Actuarial Science.
• Technical Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA).
• Minimum 6 CT subjects/exemptions.
• 2–4 years of actuarial experience, ideally within Life Insurance or actuarial valuation.
• Exposure to Life Insurance across Africa would be advantageous.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
