Role Purpose

To be involved in all aspects of actuarial management of a short-term insurer with a focus on pricing and product development, including business intelligence, underwriting, and other ad-hoc commercial involvements. This is a technical role with opportunities to develop.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

  1. 1 - 3 years in short-term insurance, with experience in Short-term Insurance pricing preferred.
  2. A degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Sciences, or Business Mathematics. Other degrees or postgraduate qualifications with a statistical/modelling aspect and/or experience will be considered.
  3. Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  4. Basic programming skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Collect data from various sources and assess the completeness and accuracy of the data.
  2. Perform data analysis and advise on appropriate actions to be taken.
  3. Perform detailed statistical investigations using specialised software.
  4. Assist in technical pricing model development and implementation.
  5. Drive technical pricing innovation and improvement on existing models.
  6. Support street pricing development and practical implementation.
  7. Monitor pricing.
  8. Provide input into product development and business processes where required.
  9. Design and build analytical solutions to meet business needs.
