An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broadmoor High Secure Hospital for a full-time substantive position of Ward Activity Co-ordinator. It is Band 4 role which provides a salary ranging from £32,199 - £34,876, inclusive of all allowances (High cost allowance, Broadmoor hospital allowance)

We are looking for an innovative, inspirational and passionate individual who can effectively engage patients with complex needs in a person-centred way. The post holder must be able to provide and support the development of individual and ward based activities.

The post holder must demonstrate the ability to work well within a team as well as display self-motivation and the ability to motivate others.

This post offers an opportunity for individuals looking to develop their existing experience within mental health settings in a role that will provide both personal and professional growth. and professionally

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this post is to engage with service users at various stages along the care pathway to support therapeutic input/engagement and specifically to plan and deliver programmes of activities (individual and group) both within a designated ward setting and jointly work with other services including Health and Fitness, Recovery College and Rehabilitation Therapy Services.

The post-holder will be required to work independently and with autonomy in the delivery of individual and group activities, and will be required to directly support junior staff, learners and volunteers.

The person is also required to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, health care professionals and outside agencies. The post holder will be required to work creatively and flexibly, and will receive support and monthly supervision from a designated registered nurse.

In order to support optimum therapeutic opportunity, the post holder will be required to combine practical expertise, to model appropriate behaviours, and to support service users in developing social and task skills.
