Job summary

HLB Barnett Chown Inc in Gauteng seeks a detail‑oriented accounting support professional to handle data capture and reconciliations across bank accounts, petty cash, debtors and creditors. You will work with payroll and accruals while ensuring accurate VAT calculations and timely submissions.

The role supports management accounts, maintains fixed asset registers and communicates clearly with team members. Experience with Pastel, Xero, Sage One or GreatSoft is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Data capture for bank accounts, credit card statements, petty cash, debtors, creditors, payroll and accruals.
• Perform VAT calculations, submissions, reviews and objections.
• Reconcile VAT to turnover, VAT to purchases, debtors, creditors, payroll, accruals, fixed assets, petty cash and long term liability.
• Maintain fixed asset register.
• Prepare management accounts.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
