Job description

SPAR North Rand is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of the position: The purpose of this position is to reconcile customer accounts, limit overdue, and resolve account queries.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Liaising with store / DC accounts staff to resolve queries and claims.
  2. Collecting outstanding monies on problematic overdue accounts.
  3. Ensuring excellent relationships with the Retailers.
  4. Allocating direct payments received and balancing to daily banking.
  5. Following up on unpaid accounts.
  6. Resolving claims on Gateway portal.
  7. Performing any tasks related to Debtors as requested.
  8. Ensuring journals are processed accurately and promptly.
  9. Reporting on overdue accounts and claims.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Degree or related finance qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Advanced computer skills, especially MS Excel and MS Word
  • SAP experience is required
  • Financial accounting analysis skills
  • MS Office literate
  • Ability to resolve queries effectively
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills (telephone & writing)
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment
