Job description

Large, integrated and well-established group in the agriculture sector is looking to employ a capable Finance Assistant. This group has interests across the country and this role will be situated in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

The ideal candidate will preferably have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial administration, Accounts Payable, or Bookkeeping, and be willing to assist the accountants with basic costings. On the job training will be provided.

This role will suit someone that is keen to learn, develop their skills, and is willing to help out where needed. This is also a great opportunity for personal growth, in earnings, as well as growth within this fast expanding business.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Invoice Processing : Receiving and verifying invoices from suppliers.
  • Approval : Ensuring invoices are approved by the appropriate person.
  • Recording : Entering invoice details into the accounting system.
  • Payment Scheduling : Determining payment dates based on terms and cash flow.
  • Reconciliation : Matching payments with invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Reporting : Generating reports on accounts payable activities for management review.
  • Costing : Assist with basic cost calculations and input into the system.
  • Ad hoc financial assistance and admin as required.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum 2 years’ financial administration experience.
  • Accounts Payable and Costing experience will advantageous.
  • A relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar would be a positive.

Remuneration :

  • R240,000 per annum cost to company, depending on experience.
