Job description

Job Title: Accounts Clerk

Location: Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital

Reporting To: Finance & Administration Manager

We are seeking an Accounts Clerk responsible for data entry, financial information processing, and general ledger reconciliations related to the financial accounting of Life Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and capture requisitions, orders, and payments on SAP.
  2. Facilitate the procurement cycle.
  3. Manage creditors: reconcile, process, and liaise with creditors and hospital staff regarding queries.
  4. Code and allocate payments and receipts in the cashbook.
  5. Assist with ad-hoc finance and admin tasks.
  6. Clear bank and debtor reconciling items.
  7. Resolve creditor and debtor account queries.
  8. Maintain creditor filing system.
  9. Update and manage the contracts register.
  10. Review and establish internal controls.
  11. Manage Accounts receivable sub-system.
  12. Prepare month-end accruals.
  13. Assist with month-end and Capital Expenditure reporting.
  14. Perform general admin duties.
  15. Liaise with the credit control department regarding banking and transfers.
  16. Handle petty cash.
  17. Seek continuous improvement in working methods.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bookkeeping diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience with SAP proficiency.
  • Understanding of financial processes up to trial balance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the private healthcare industry is a plus.
