About the Role
As an Accounts Assistant , you’ll play a key role in managing daily financial processes—from bookkeeping and reconciliations to invoicing, payroll support, and reporting. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and executive team, ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and compliance with all financial regulations.
What You’ll Lead
Maintain daily bookkeeping, including journal entries, cashbook, and ledger reconciliation.
Perform bank, supplier, and insurance schedule reconciliations.
Process customer invoices; verify against sales reports for accuracy.
Support accounts payable and receivable functions and reporting.
Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Coordinate and verify creditor payments and ensure accurate allocations.
Manage payroll processing (experience with PaySpace is a plus).
Reconcile company credit cards and allocate travel and expense costs.
Liaise with banking partners and third-party vendors.
Administer company phone accounts and ensure appropriate cost recovery.
Assist in month-end and year-end financial closings.
Provide financial and administrative support to the CEO and senior management.
What You Bring
Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or Accounting Assistant.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
Proficiency in Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, PaySpace , and advanced Excel .
Experience with VAT reconciliations, PAYE, UIF, and COIDA declarations.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and deadline orientation.
Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
Integrity, discretion, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
