We’re Hiring: Accounting Manager
Location: Durban
Industry: Finance / Accounting within an Engineering Consulting Environment
Employment Type: Full-time

A dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their head office in Durban. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations
  2. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and forecasts
  3. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  4. Oversee daily cash flow, treasury functions, and bank reconciliations
  5. Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and regulatory standards
  6. Provide audit support and assist in budgeting and financial planning
  7. Communicate financial performance and investment strategies to stakeholders
  8. Support operational teams and understand relevant technical aspects of the business

Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  2. Professional certification (SAICA, CIMA, ACCA) is a strong advantage
  3. Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience
  4. Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards and tax regulations
  5. Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or Xero
  6. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
