Job summary

Yellosa is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead client accounting activities, prepare and review management accounts and IFRS-based statements, and oversee NAV calculations, valuations, and reporting for diverse investment structures.

You will manage relationships with clients and financial intermediaries, collaborate with legal, compliance and admin teams, and drive timely delivery while mentoring the accounting team to uphold accuracy and standards.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting/finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven financial management experience in professional services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and tax regulations.
• Knowledge of Mauritius Income Tax and VAT regulations.
• Experience with auditors, financial intermediaries and external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Client Accounting: prepare and review management accounts and IFRS statements.
• Ensure accuracy in NAV calculations, valuations, and performance reports.
• Lead asset reconciliations across diverse structures and supervise team output.
• Manage Client Relationship Management: serve as primary contact for high-value clients and resolve escalations.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance and admin teams to develop tailored client solutions.
• Lead Team Leadership & Operational Oversight: train, coach and develop accounting staff and drive process improvements.

Job description

Client Accounting

• Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulations.
• Ensure accuracy in NAV calculations, portfolio valuations, and performance reports.
• Oversee asset reconciliations and valuations across diverse investment structures.
• Collaborate with clients and their financial intermediaries.
• Ensure adherence to deadlines.

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as a key contact for high‑value clients, ensuring proactive and responsive service.
• Address complex client queries and escalated issues when necessary.
• Work cross‑functionally to develop tailored solutions for clients, involving legal, compliance and administrative teams.

Other responsibilities

• Serve as board member on some of the client companies.
• Serve as member or alternate member of committees set up by the Company.
• When required, oversee or deputize for tax compliance services functions (Corporate Tax, Individual Income Tax, TDS, QDMTT, VAT, PAYE, UAE Tax etc.).
• Attend to requests for financial information from regulators or authorities.
• Handle regulatory surveys.

Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

• Supervise accounting team output to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Implement process improvements and automation tools to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Monitor team performance metrics including revenue, chargeability, and debtor positions.
• Provide training, coaching and career development support to team members.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Manager should have:

• A professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Proven experience in financial management within the professional services industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and tax regulations.
• Knowledge of Mauritius Income Tax and VAT legislations.
• Experience working with auditors, financial intermediaries and external advisors.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Effective leadership and communication abilities to manage teams and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
