Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to lead a client-facing accounts team, with a particular focus on clients in the construction and project-based industries.

This role involves managing deliverables, improving processes, and developing internal capabilities-not overseeing the full finance function.

A core responsibility will be to strengthen and support the existing team (5 staff members), ensuring consistency, accuracy, and client satisfaction, while allowing room for strategic contributions and innovation.This position will initially be full-time, in office based in Germiston region (8am - 5pm), at a later stage becoming a hybrid role.Key ResponsibilitiesClient AccountingOversee day-to-day delivery of accounting services to clientsEnsure compliance with accounting and tax regulationsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual management reportsSupport preparation of annual financial statements and budgetsDraft and manage fee proposals and engagement lettersMaintain professional communication with clients regarding all accounting mattersProvide support on project-based and construction-related financial needsUnderstand and manage contract accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, and project reportingAssist clients with industry-specific compliance and structuringInternal Operations & ReportingManage monthly billing cycles, WIP reports, and timesheet reviewsTrack internal deadlines and resource planningCollaborate with leadership to improve systems and processesTeam LeadershipTrain, develop, and motivate team membersEnsure quality control and timely delivery of outputsBuild a strong, self-reliant team cultureClient Growth & SupportIdentify opportunities to expand services within the existing client baseSupport onboarding of new clients and projectsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (SAIPA / SAICA articles preferred)Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting, including construction or project-based accountingStrong understanding of cost tracking, WIP, and job costingProven experience managing teams and client relationshipsProficient in accounting software (e.g.

Xero, Sage) and ExcelExcellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skillsPeople orientated individual, strong team playerMandarin-speaking candidates will be highly advantageous, given the nature of some client interactions.
