As an Accounting Consultant, your role is to provide comprehensive client service and support to USA clients. Flexibility in working hours will be required.
You will be responsible for processing various financial transactions, reviewing the work of trainees, and compiling accurate financial statements and management reports.
Additionally, you will engage with clients, build relationships, and assist in scoping their needs.
Your role also includes providing training to junior staff members, contributing to client administration tasks, participating in planning and administrative activities, fostering a positive company culture, and staying updated with the latest industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bank statements, supplier and customer bills, fixed assets, and any other accounting responsibilities.
- Review the work of trainees.
- Compile Management Reports from monthly accounting records.
- Compile Annual Financial Statements for clients.
- Prepare working papers for independent review engagements under limited supervision.
- Ensure annual accounting is performed and reviewed monthly to guarantee that the balance sheet and income statement are accurate and ready for the compilation of the financial statements.
- Assist with payroll tasks, including payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, EMP, EMP, and COIDA/WCA submissions, and review of work done by trainees.
- Engage with clients to build relationships and assist in scoping client needs.
- Provide on-the-job training for Accounting Consultants, Junior Accounting, and Trainees.
- Present training to the cloud accounting team.
- Update CRM with client details and scope clients according to the scoping document.
- Prepare client proposals under supervision.
- Assist with client onboarding and offboarding.
- Prepare the agenda for monthly planning meetings with the POD Leader.
- Submit Timesheets timely before COB on Fridays.
- Ensure that all projects assigned to your portfolio are rolled out monthly and that all tasks are signed off on a daily basis.
- Review budgeted vs actual hours spent on clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position will hold an AGA(SA), SAIPA, or CIMA qualification and have at least 2 years post-articles experience within an accounting firm environment.
