Job description

Position : Accounting Administrator

Working hours : 7am-6pm MST

Salary Range : $1000-1500 USD / month depending on experience

Position Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Administrator to provide essential accounting and administrative support to our team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support day-to-day administrative operations related to accounting.
  • Perform light project management on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Organize and maintain financial records and reports.
  • Provide backup support for bookkeeping and general finance tasks.
  • Assist with reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist with processing journal entries and accurately posting them to appropriate accounts in the accounting system.
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and financial records.
  • Assist the accounting team with maintaining compliance with accounting principles (e.g., proper handling of liabilities).
  • Provide administrative support, including organizing files, managing documents, and maintaining records in Google Sheets and Dropbox.
  • Use QuickBooks Online to manage client accounts, update records, and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll tasks using Gusto payroll system as needed.

Collaborate with the team of bookkeepers and reviewers to support financial workflows and resolve any discrepancies.

Communicate with clients as necessary, offering support for accounting-related queries and updates (fluent in English, both verbal and written).

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping required
  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar administrative support role, with strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations, posting, and journal entries.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (experience with almost all client accounts).
  • Familiarity with Gusto payroll, Google Sheets, and Dropbox.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team, supporting back-end accounting functions.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Previous experience working in a remote or flexible work environment.
  • 3+ years experience using QuickBooks Online (certified is a bonus).
