Accountant with practice experience

UK Based Accountancy firm seeks a Qualified Accountant, who has worked for an Accounting practice for min 3yrs, servicing SMMEs on Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
  • Monitor and manage company budgets and forecasts.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Able to prepare accounts on Xero.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Minimum of 3yrs recent Accounting Firm experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems, Xero qualified.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid Xero experience.
