Accountuit Cape Town (Pty) Ltd. seeks an Accountant in Practice to join our Western Cape practice. The role covers preparation of management accounts, financial statements, tax work, and client advisory across SMBs.

You will work with Xero and our Market Place workflows, supporting a small team and liaising with clients to improve financial decisions. The ideal candidate has completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles, strong Excel skills, and proven capability in year-end processes, payroll, and tax

Qualifications

• Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software (Xero, Market Place).
• Experience leading a small team (1–2 members).
• Experience drafting financial statements and year-end processes.

Responsabilités

• Performing customer accounts on Xero.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of annual financial statements.
• Month-end and year-end reconciliations.
• Liaising with customers to discuss financial decisions.
• Managing annual audits where applicable.
• Payroll processing.
• Employer reconciliations (bi-annual).
• Tax calculations and submissions (VAT/ITRIRE etc.).

Job Specification

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

• Performing customer accounts on Xero
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Preparation of month-end and year-end reconciliations
• Liaising with customers regarding their business and assisting them in making financial decisions
• Management of annual audits (where applicable)
• Payroll processing
• Bi-annual employer reconciliations
• Workman's compensation and RMA submissions
• Calculations of provisional tax and income tax (companies and individuals)
• Submissions of VAT201, EMP201, ITR14, ITR12, IRP6
• Other administrative tasks

REQUIREMENTS

• Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles.
• Good understanding of financial accounting and taxation with practical experience in:
  • SARS systems and processes
  • EMP501 reconciliations
  • Provisional tax calculations
  • Drafting of AFS
  • Year-end processes, working papers, and journals.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software, Xero, and Market Place.
• Experience in managing a team of 1 – 2 team members/clerks.
• Experience in reviewing management accounts, financial statements, and financial/SARS letters.
• Experience in client communication; interfacing; and meetings.
• Excellent written and spoken skills.
• Not hesitant to give advice and trust own judgment.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills.
