Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge in Audit and Accounts preparation is advantageous.

Introduction

Our client, a leading renewable energy company based in Sandton is looking for a Finance Accountant.

Our client sources, invests in and plan to actively manage a wide range of utility scale energy assets focused on solar PV, onshore win and storage solutions. The team is being structured to support their rapid growth ambitions and long-term ownership of energy assets with a strong focus on IRR optimisation.

Working Hours: 09:00 – 18:00

Duties & Responsibilities

• Part of a team of accountants, the role will report directly to the Finance Manager based in Gauteng and will work with the finance team based in London as required.
• Have knowledge of the energy and renewable sector and preferably have worked across multiple jurisdictions and currencies or have the aptitude to do so.
• Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements.
• Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations.
• Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Weekly cash flow reporting.
• Managing foreign currency payments.
• Executing payments and performing monthly bank reconciliation.
• Preparation of indirect and Corporate Income Tax returns.
• International reporting for global entities (e.g. US GAAP, Spanish GAAP, etc.).

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BCom Accounting with 3 years’ Finance Accounting experience within Renewable Energy, Oil + Gas, Energy, Mining, Construction and Projects environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in Audit and Accounts preparation is advantageous.
