Job summary

Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd seeks a capable Financial Accountant to join Rainmaker Media operations in Cape Town. You will handle intercompany processes, monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate reporting to support decision making.

The role requires an accounting degree (SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA advantageous), 2+ years in a similar role, and SAP experience. Strong Excel skills and integrity are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process intergroup transactions monthly.
• Complete intercompany schedules for consolidation.
• Produce monthly management accounts for the leadership team.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and month-/year-end closes.
• Improve reporting to deliver timely, accurate information.
• Analyse monthly P&L and investigate variances.
• Support year-end financial statements and audits.

Join our Rainmaker Media team. What you'll do

• Responsible for the monthly preparation and processing of intergroup transactions.
• Monthly completion of intercompany schedules for Group Consolidation purposes.
• Ensure the effective and timeous production of monthly management accounts for the Rainmaker management team.
• Annual budgets and forecasts.
• Month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure continuous improvement of reporting to ensure that management has timeous, accurate and value-adding information to assist in decision-making.
• Monthly profitability analysis per channel and investigating anomalies with the team leads.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements at year end and assisting with audit queries.
• Ensure effective cost management and analysis of financial information.
• Review & complete monthly P&L and monitor variances to budget.
• Preparation of ECL provision.
• Monthly completion of schedules for Group Consolidation purposes.
• Providing insights into Rainmaker's financial performance and assisting Rainmaker management team with preparation of divisional meeting information.
• Assisting sales and insights team with client spend analysis.
• Assist with vendor onboarding process.
• Voucher order approvals.

What you'll bring

• Accounting degree (SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA) advantageous.
• +2 years' experience in relevant role.
• SAP experience - (essential).
