Job summary

1 Grid is seeking an accounting professional to manage the full accounting function and provide decision-support to drive optimization and efficiency across the business. You will own the general ledger to trial balance, prepare management accounts, and assist with budgets and forecasts.

The role requires strong Excel, analytical capabilities, and experience with ERP systems such as Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Online and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• BCom/BAcc in Finance or Accounting required.
• SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA membership or completed article clerkship preferred.
• Experience in tech/hosting environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Management Accounts.
• Assist Financial Manager in budgets and forecasts.
• Take full responsibility for general ledger through trial balance.
• Analyze variances, spot trends, and improve performance.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash forecasts.
• Provide variance analysis to Department Managers.
• Load, authorize and approve bank payments.
• Sales by product and user analysis.
• Compile ad-hoc reports as requested.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage the external audit process.
• Payroll management & administration experience required.
• Work with multiple banking platforms.
• ERP systems: Xero, MS Dynamics, Sage Online, QuickBooks.

This role will be responsible for the accounting function as well as providing relevant support and decision-making information to other functions within the business for further optimization and efficiency

Key performance areas

• Preparing Monthly and Quarterly Management Accounts
• Assisting Financial Manager in preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
• Take full responsibility for the general ledger through to the trial balance
• Analysis of variances and to spot trends and improve company performance
• Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly cash forecasts
• Liaise with Department Managers to prepare meaningful and value-added variance analysis
• Loading, authorizing and approving bank payments
• Sales by product and user analysis
• Compile ad-hoc reports as requested
• Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet line items
• Manage the audit process with the external auditing firm
• Payroll management & administration experience required
