Essential Functions and Basic Duties
  1. Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned accounting functions.
  2. Review monthly financial reports and working paper files.
  3. Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.
  4. Complete required records and reports, maintaining organized files.
  5. Prepare journal entries and handle complex accounting areas.
  6. Perform various accounting tasks following established policies, including:
  • Preparing trial balances from source documents.
  • Preparing Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
  • Preparing notes to reports.
  • Preparing monthly JV accounts where applicable.
  • Filing copies of final monthly reports.
  • Participate in annual audits.
  • Balance intercompany loan accounts.
  • Maintain Shareholders Loan Schedules.
  • Review and release creditor payments.
  • Prepare and review 1-3 year budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Report on financial income, including management and admin fees, rental recoveries, leasing commissions, and interest earnings.
  • Research and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
  • Establish effective communication with area personnel and management.
  • Maintain contact with Operations and Property Managers for information and transaction correction.
  • Keep management informed of activities and issues.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, government agencies, and external professionals.
  • Respond promptly and politely to inquiries and problems.
  • Ensure clients are well-informed.
  • Uphold the company's professional reputation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Stay updated on developments in accounting and legal requirements.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organized work environment.
