Accountant Competitive Salary Commensurate With Experience.

Position Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa.

This role is integral to the financial management of our organization, encompassing various responsibilities including HR-related accounting, procurement planning, and overseeing the financial activities of a sister company.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Accountant of the South African subsidiary and collaborate closely with The Taurus Group head office based in Spain.

This position offers the opportunity for career growth, with the potential to transition into the Senior Accounts position within the next five years.

Key Responsibilities :

1. HR Related Accounts : Manage payroll processing, including salary disbursements, deductions, and tax compliance. Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, allowances, and reimbursements. Prepare financial reports related to HR expenditures and analyze variances.
2. Procurement Planning : Develop procurement plans aligned with the cash flow objectives of the business. Coordinate purchasing activities, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
3. Financial Oversight of Sister Company : Oversee the financial operations of a smaller sister company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for the sister company. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
4. SAP Experience : Utilize SAP software for accounting processes, including but not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Provide support and training to team members on SAP functionalities. Optimize SAP utilization to streamline accounting procedures and enhance productivity. Demonstrate leadership potential and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities. Work closely with the Senior Accountant and directors of the South African subsidiary to gain insights into the senior-level role and prepare for succession.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or ACCA certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to HR-related accounts and procurement planning. Proficiency in SAP software is highly desirable, with demonstrated experience in utilizing SAP for accounting processes. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional team environment. Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
