Job summary

Marula Platinum Limited is seeking an Accountant - C5 (Fixed Term) to provide professional management accounting and admin services to ensure compliance with policies and internal controls.

The role requires a financial degree, 4-5 years as a junior accountant, supervisory experience, and proficiency in MS Office and SAP. Close collaboration with management to prepare forecasts, budgets, and cost analyses.

Qualifications

• Management Accounting / Relevant Financial Degree / Diploma or NQF 7 Equivalent is essential.
• Honours Degree and CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA Accredited is desirable
• 4-5 years relevant experience as a Junior Accountant is essential
• Supervisory experience is essential
• Computer literacy (MS Office package, SAP) is essential
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate

Responsibilities

• Preparation, presentation and interpretation of daily, weekly & monthly management accounts and related reports.
• Preparation of monthly forecasts and annual business plans.
• Interpret and analyse the relationship between mining production and costs to assess operational efficiency and profitability.
• Analyse pricing and volume variances compared to budgets and forecasts.
• Supplying of information to stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions regarding performance.
• Coaching junior accountants and/or clerks on business, systems and processes.
• Maintaining accurate financial records (correct cost allocation).
• Conducting reviews on new cost reduction initiatives and value adding proposals.
