Job description

Working Hours : Monday to Friday 8 AM-5 PM Irish Standard Time

Overview of the Position

An ideal candidate will support a portfolio of Irish B2B and B2C clients. This role will focus on compliance-based accounting and bookkeeping functions particularly around tax payroll and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations
  • Prepare and review financial statements VAT returns and corporate tax filings
  • Manage monthly payroll processing and statutory submissions
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of bank statements accounts payable / receivable
  • Maintain accounting records in Xero and produce client-ready reports
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with Irish tax and accounting regulations
  • Support year-end close audits and reporting processes
  • Contribute to process improvements and system optimizations

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles preferably in a compliance-heavy environment
  • Recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA CIMA SAIPA or SAICA
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero (certification is a strong plus)
  • Experience handling payroll VAT bank reconciliations and management accounts
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal supervision

Preferred :

  • Experience working with Irish or UK-based clients
  • Prior work in an accounting practice or an outsourced finance team
  • Familiarity with Tax regulations and filing requirements
