We are looking for Fruit Accountants!

Location: Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa

A well-established and reputable company in the fresh fruit industry is seeking a Senior Fruit Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. If you have a strong accounting background and thrive in a fast-paced agri-business environment, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage full creditors' process for producers, including produce and cost capturing, payments, remittances, and reporting.
2. Maintain and monitor standard costs and investigate cost variances.
3. Process commercial invoices, credit notes, and producer cost recoveries.
4. Manage balance sheet control accounts related to standard costing.
5. Oversee weekly/monthly commercial creditor payments and cash flow.
6. Assist with onboarding of new customers and producers.
7. Provide various financial and management reports as needed.

Requirements

1. BCompt or BTech Degree in Accounting
2. Completed articles at a registered auditing firm or a minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
3. Industry experience in fresh fruit or agri-business is essential.
4. Strong cost accounting and standard cost principles knowledge.
5. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in commercial finance systems.
6. Forex experience is highly advantageous.
