Job Description
A successful and growing property development company requires an experienced, hands-on and tech-savvy Accountant to

manage the full financial function. This is a full-time flexible hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote). It is essential that you are based in the Helderberg region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full end-to-end accounting function
  • Maintain and review accounting records, ensuring completeness & accuracy,
  • Manage both the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Process supplier payments and manage monthly payroll
  • Manage rental accounting functions, including tenant invoicing, rent roll reconciliation, deposit tracking, rental income schedules, and preparation of age analyses
  • Review and submit VAT reconciliations and ensure timely tax submissions
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, with insightful commentary
  • Assist with budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Manage the financial year-end close and prepare Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
  • Perform feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed developments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior accounting role,
  • Experience within property development or construction (advantageous)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Proficient in accounting software (Sage / Pastel)
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport
  • Tech-savvy, with an interest in leveraging new technologies, including AI-based tools
  • Ability to work independently
