Introduction

Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant to assist in managing the company's financial accounts and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be eager to learn and grow within the role.

Job Description

To complete profit and loss statements timeously and correctly for the relevant Division by processing all relevant financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements and reports
  • Prepare account reconciliation
  • Report on Variances
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
  • MS Office proficiency - Microsoft Excel and Financial Systems essential
  • Financial and Accounting policies, principles and procedures
  • Bookkeeping experience within a Retail environment
