Responsible for the full accounting function up to trial balance, which includes supporting the Financial Manager with the accounting functions, month-end procedures, year-end and statutory requirements.

B.Com Accounting Degree or related Financial Degree

- 1 year post articles
- 3 years (without articles)
Required nature of experience:
- Commercial experience
- Full bookkeeping experience up to trial balance (Including debtors management, creditors / supplier management, general ledger)

Bank Management 15%
- Process, reconcile, allocate and capture cash transactions and cash equivalents.
- Communicate payments to relevant departments.
- Upload all relevant electronic documents to the accounting system.
- Liaise with banks on a continuous basis.
- Load payments on various banks.
- Reconcile credit card transactions and upload supporting documentation on Xero.
Month End Reporting 45%
- Reconcile and review monthly journals and ensure supporting documents are kept.
- Reconcile intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
- Reconcile all ledgers (supplier, debtors, general ledger) for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile VAT reports.
- Assist with statutory reports preparation.
- Upload payroll payments and journals on Xero.
- Calculate and reconcile sales commissions.
- Prepare and reconcile profit and loss/income statements and balance sheets.
- Prepare and reconcile age analysis for creditors and debtors monthly.
- Provide reports to management monthly.
- Report on expenses as needed.
- Assist with month-end and annual reporting, including audits.
Cash Management 5%
- Manage credit cards and ensure sufficient funds.
- Assist with inward and outward Forex payments.
Customers (Debtors) Management 10%
- Liaise with sales team and assist with invoice queries.
- Manage debtors collection and age analysis.
- Handle sales department queries.
- Process credit notes accurately and timely.
- Maintain supporting documents for invoices.
- Issue invoices and statements accurately and timely.
- Allocate and reconcile customer payments.
Suppliers (Creditors) Management 10%
- Ensure accurate supplier payment allocation.
- Reconcile creditors monthly.
- Manage supplier payments and update supplier information on Xero.
Inventory Management 5%
- Assist with monthly stock takes and reconciliation.
Accounting Administration 5%
- Update fixed asset register and insurance list monthly.
- Reconcile fixed assets and conduct bi-annual audits.
- Ensure statutory compliance (tax, BBBEE, company details).
- Maintain updated company details with stakeholders.
QMS 5%
- Adhere to QMS guidelines.
- Keep supporting documents current.
- Maintain relevant processes.
