About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team of our client. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. If you are someone who enjoys reconciling numbers, spotting trends, ensuring compliance, and being a dependable go-to for all things finance—this role could be a great fit for you.

You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing reconciliations (balance sheet and income statement), assisting with audits, tax filings, budgeting, and supporting strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and record supplier invoices and payments
  • Maintain general ledgers and assist in monthly customer invoicing
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor daily cash flow
  • Track fixed assets and depreciation
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • 3 years’ experience in an accounting role
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations (local and international a bonus)

Qualifications:

  • A relevant accounting or finance qualification (degree preferred)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SAIPA, CIMA, AGA(SA) are advantageous)
