Job summary

Job description

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Accountant within the Finance division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
  • Ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Compile and analyse financial data for reporting
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Conduct regular general ledger audits and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure accuracy of accounting data through proper transaction recording
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Reconcile AP/AR balances and resolve issues
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain liquidity
  • Support budget and forecast preparation
  • Monitor budgets and provide variance analysis
  • Collaborate with departments on budget requirements
  • Develop and implement internal controls
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation
  • Identify financial risks and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting
  • Provide financial insights for strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with teams to support financial planning
  • Communicate financial updates to management and stakeholders
  • Promote continuous improvement in finance operations

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in financial accounting
  • CA(SA) or similar professional qualification (advantageous)
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Understanding of the industry and its financial dynamics
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code 08)
  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) (advantageous)
  • Willing to travel
