A leading company in South Africa is looking for a Financial Administrator to maintain accurate financial records and assist with financial reporting and compliance. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and over 5 years of relevant experience, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial software. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and contribute to the company's financial integrity and compliance with regulations.
Financial Administration Maintains accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS and internal policies.
Performs daily bank reconciliations and ensures accuracy of cash balances.
Prepares and reviews payments using various banking systems.
Supports the CFO in preparing for external audits and compiles audit packs, including VAT submissions.
Oversees accounts payable, ensuring timely invoice processing and payment execution.
Ensures ERP system data integrity and supports other departments with ad hoc analysis.
Financial Reporting Assists with month-end close processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.
Participates in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Supports the development of monthly schedules and internal control procedures.
Prepares statutory reports and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compliance & SHEQ Responsibilities Ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety policies.
Participates in Integrated Management System (IMS) initiatives.
Identifies and reports risks, incidents, and non-conformance.
Upholds hygiene, safety, and health standards in the Finance Office.
The Successful Applicant Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience Over 5 years' experience in an Accounting or Finance environment Experience handling foreign currencies and maintaining general ledgers Experience in doing operational wand administrative work.
Technical Skills & Knowledge Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Proficient in SAGE / Pastel Evolution In-depth knowledge of IFRS 16, GAAP, and financial regulations Familiarity with ISO standard requirements Competencies High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Effective communicator with the ability to present financial data clearly Demonstrates initiative, independence, and time management Maintains discretion with sensitive information Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing circumstances Additional Requirements Expected to stay informed of risks and hazards outlined in the company's HIRA documentation and report any new issues proactively.
