Accountant

Our client is looking for an Accountant to join their team in Johannesburg in the Legal services sector.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEstablished law firm in Saxonwold has an opportunity for a professional and dynamic accountant to join their teamThis position offers significant opportunities for growth and development towards management and leadershipDUTIES : BOOKKEEPING / ACCOUNTING : Processing to trial balance, bank recons, and creditors and debtors' recons.Assist with monthly creditor payments.Monthly payroll and associated tax submissions.Maintenance of Company asset register.

INTERNAL FINANCIAL REPORTING / CONTROLS : Monthly management packs and cash flow projectionsMaintenance of effective internal controls and financial processesTAX & COMPLIANCE : Compliance with Legal Practice Act and other governing bodies.Annual tax returns and compliance.Monthly Vat Returns and compliance.

EXTERNAL REPORTING : Preparation of Annual financial statements.External audit queries.Maintain relationship with external parties (Auditors / bankers).

REQUIREMENTS : Tertiary Financial QualificationExtensive knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS for SME's), income Tax Act and Vat Act.3 - 5 years post degree experience in accounting role (Preferably in Legal Environment)Advance Microsoft Excel.Legal Bookkeeping / accounting experience.Ghost Practice experience will be highly beneficial.No Criminal Record and acceptable credit rating.
