A leading company in the technology sector seeks a Senior Accountant to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Ideal candidates will possess a BCom Accounting degree and have a proven track record in financial reporting.
As the Senior Accountant , you will work closely with the Finance & Logistics Manager, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making are top priorities.
Your expertise will be essential in optimizing financial processes, managing key accounts, and contributing to long-term business success.
What you'll do Assist in the preparation, analysis, and completion of financial statements Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies Balance sheet reconciliations Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register Implement process improvements Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements Support external processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations Submitting statutory returns / information (CIPC) Assist with costings and margin analysis Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions as required Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve financial processes and reporting Support the finance team with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency Taxation Monthly VAT returns Assist in completion of annual corporation tax returns Budgets and forecasts Assist in preparation of the annual budget of specific GL lines in the business, i.e.
motor vehicle expenses Assist in preparing quarterly forecasts Annual audit Assist in preparation of group consolidated AFS (CASEWARE).
Certain disclosures Assist in preparation of tax computation Other group reporting Annual ESG reporting Annual supplier spends reporting (LkG) What you'll need BCom Accounting degree is required Proven experience in assisting with the completion of financial statements Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel Previous experience in VAT and tax compliance is advantageous Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills
