Job description

We are looking for accountant to join our team at realIPM located on a farm in Grabouw. This is an in-office role, with no remote work options, and we would prefer someone local to the area to minimize commute time however will consider all applicants.

realIPM provides the highest quality biopesticides, and services to the agricultural sector in order to enable farmers to increase their yield, decrease chemical resistance and ultimately improve overall plant and soil health

Requirements

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Oversee cash book and general ledger entries.
• Maintain records for fixed assets, ensuring accurate depreciation and adjustments.
• Ensure tax compliance including preparation and submission of VAT and other tax returns to SARS.
• Review and oversee the work of team members.
• Support month-end reporting and assist in financial statements preparation.
• Collaborate with other departments and report to senior management on financial performance.
• General Ledger reconciliations
• Daily cash book review
• Education: B.Com degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeper role, with solid knowledge of the full accounting process.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in one or more accounting systems (experience with Syspro is a bonus).
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cashbook, fixed assets, and tax compliance (specifically with SARS).
• Ability to review and manage month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Month end financial close
• Other: Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative office team.
